MARY INEZ TAYLOR

Mary Inez Taylor, 71, died Friday night at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Cornelius and Pearl Smith Taylor. She was the first teacher hired at Faith Christian Academy and taught there for 35 years. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Church Choir.

A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. A graveside service will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at Pinecrest Cemetery, Warsaw.

She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and wife, Peggy Taylor of Warsaw, Alvin and wife, Barbara Taylor of Goldsboro, Robert and wife, Myra Taylor of Goldsboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Ralph Stevens of Warsaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro, and other times at the home, 100 Perkins St., Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the family.
