Dorothy Mae Horton Warrick, 85, of 1602 Evergreen Ave., died Sunday at the Brian Center.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Dr. Homer Morris, Rev. Bob Bame and Dr. Billy Seate officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Warrick was a native of Halifax County and was the daughter of the late James Seth Horton and Mary Whitfield Horton. She had been an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, serving on the Altar Guild and as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband, J. Morris Warrick; one daughter, Dottie W. Cooke of Goldsboro; one son, Jackie Warrick and wife, Shelia, of Goldsboro; one sister, Margaret Pearson of Roanoke Rapids; five grandchildren, Jennifer Sykes and husband, Marion, of Mount Olive, Harry Cooke and wife, Meg, of Greenville, Jeffrey Cooke and wife, Cathy, of Goldsboro and Jay Warrick and Jenny Marie Bartik, both of Goldsboro; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Horton, James Horton, Edward Horton; and two sisters, Margaret Daughtry and Mary Robinson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.

Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Men Scholarship Fund or Senior Companion Fund at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
