GLADYS McCULLEN

CALYPSO -- Gladys Stanley McCullen, 73, of 112 Cameron St., died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was a former employee of Mount Olive Pickle Company, Young Squire Industries and Faison Manufacturing Company and was a member of Peace Baptist Church in Calypso.

Preceded in death by her parents, William E. Stanley and Essie Weaver Stanley, and two sisters, Edna Turner and Essie Creech, she is survived by her husband, Henderson McCullen of the home; three brothers, Edward Stanley of Albertson, Kenneth Stanley of Dover, and James Stanley of LaGrange; and four sisters, Virginia Chestnut of Pink Hill, Viola Kornegay of Kinston, Laura Maldonado of Black Creek and Margaret Odom of Kinston.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Kenneth Powell officiating. The family will remain afterward to greet friends. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Calypso Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Peace Baptist Church in Calypso.
