THELBERT MASSENGILL

Thelbert Eugene Mass-engill, 96, of 1718 W. Grantham St., died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Johnston County, Mr. Massengill was the son of the late Needham C. Massengill and Geneva Holt Massengill and was married to the late Gladys B. Massengill. He retired from Dewey Brothers with 421/2 years of service and was a member of Goldsboro Worship Center, formerly Clingman Street Church of God.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center with Pastor Joseph Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Massengill is survived by his son, Glen Eugene Massengill of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one sister, Rosa Massengill Davis of Princeton; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Minnie Stella M. Johnson, William E. "Bill" Massengill, Nellie Eva M. Woodard, Irene M. Hartley, Annie M. Braswell, Delmar "Del" Massengill, James A. Massengill, and Thelma M. Mauldin.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
