BENJAMIN KEARNS

KENANSVILLE -- Benjamin Franklin Kearns, 69, died Tuesday at Duplin General Hospital.

The funeral will be held today at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. The Rev. Tuck Bounds will officiate. Burial will be on Friday morning at 11 at the Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.

Mr. Kearns was the son of the late Clyde E. Kearns and Alice Somers Kearns of Alamance County. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transporta-tion and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde E. Kearns Jr. , and one sister, Margaret Kearns Grady.

He is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Kearns Williams of Beulaville and Sandra Kearns Batchelor of Kinston; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Community Funeral Home following the service tonight.
