LOYOLA F. SPENCE

MOUNT OLIVE -- Loyola F. Spence, 86, of 600 Smith Chapel Road, died Saturday at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation in Mount Olive.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Henry G. Spence Sr. and Hattie Rice Spence and was married to the late Elon Daniel Spence. Mr. Spence was a mechanic and worked with Spence Garage and Grocery and served in the United States Army.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Thomas McLendon and the Rev. T. C. West officiating.

Mr. Spence is survived by two sons, Michael Spence, and his wife, Sarah, of Seven Springs and Reginald Spence of Mount Olive; one daughter, Brenda Spence of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Tony Spence, Jeffery Spence and Stacie Gooding; two great-grandchildren; his brother, John Spence of Monroe and his sisters, Eulalie Blackwelder of Seven Springs and Kate Garo of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry G. Spence, Jr. and Wade T. Spence, and his sister, Lois Davis.

The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Michael and Sarah Spence, 426 Broadhurst Road, Seven Springs.
