LESTER MCDUFFIE

WARSAW -- Lester McDuffie, 77, of 103 Quail Hollow Drive, died Thursday at Sunbridge Nursing Center in Mount Olive.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Burning Bush Holy Church, in Faison. The Rev. Arto Pickett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cobb Cemetery.

Mr. McDuffie is survived by his wife, Sallie McDuffie of the home; two sons, Lester Thomas McDuffie of Wallace and Robert Earl McDuffie of Mount Olive; seven daughters, Dorothy Mae Faison of Warsaw, Thelma Bell of Goldsboro, Annie Doris McDuffie of Clinton, Cathy Smith of Turkey, Patricia Ann McDuffie of Clinton, Joan Aycock of Faison, and Betty Goodman of Whitsett; one brother, David James McDuffie Jr.; 35 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Olive.
