ISAAC JONES
Isaac Jones, 84, of 6018 NC 55 East, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Isaac Edward and Ellie Ruffin Jones and was the father of the late Michael Anthony Jones.
A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a charter member of Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Moore Jones; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas M. and Patricia Jones of Seven Springs; two grandchildren, Sheri Jones and Brandi Jones of Seven Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Seven Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service, and at the residence at other times.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro is serving the family.
