MARY BROCK TART

ROSE HILL -- Mary Brock Tart, 79, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Born May 15, 1925, to the late Henry Brock and Beatrice Weeks Brock, of Johnston County, Mrs. Tart worked as a nurse in this area for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Henry S. Tart and Dwight C. Tart.

She is survived by four daughters, Becky Foy of Wallace, Julia Jarman, Pamela Tart, and Leigh Collins, all of Rose Hill; one brother, Henry W. Brock of Raleigh; two sisters, Ella B. Held of Raleigh, and Sue B. Thornton of Dunn; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Community Chapel in the Community Funeral Home, 306 N. Sycamore St., in Rose Hill. The Rev. Joseph Tew will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton Grove.

A visitation was held Saturday evening from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home.

Family and friends will be received at other times at the Rose Hill home.
