MARY LEE PRIDGEN

SNOW HILL -- Mary Lee Ivey Pridgen died Thursday at her home.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Dennis Lamm officiating. Interment will be in Stantonsburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Pridgen was a native of Johnston County, born on February 27, 1925, to the late, William E. and Nora Pope Boswell. She was a longtime member of the Stantonsburg Baptist Church before moving her membership to Rainbow United Methodist Church in Snow Hill following the marriage to her second husband. Mrs. Pridgen retired from the Greene County School System, having been the cafeteria manger at Snow Hill Primary School.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roger D. Ivey and Holden Pridgen, and is survived by two sons and their wives, Charles and Linda Ivey of Stantonsburg and Bob and Diane Ivey of Goldsboro; a brother, Sherwood Boswell and wife, Shirley, of Wilson; grandchildren, Keith Boswell and wife, Sara, Wendy Bradburn, Amy Ivey, Laury Ivey, C.J. Barnes and Alec Ivey; step-children, John Robert Pridgen and wife, Edna of Snow Hill, Aubrey Pridgen and wife, Annetta of San Antonio, TX, Beatrice Dail of Snow Hill, Katie Jones and husband, Robert of Snow Hill and Hazel Pridgen of Snow Hill; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday night from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and other times at the residence, 1170 Pridgen Road, Snow Hill.
