CURTIS CANNON

Curtis Rossie Cannon, 65, died Monday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Greenleaf Christian Church. The Rev. Dr. William Barber II will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Cannon was the son of the late Tom and Hannnah Streeter Cannon. He attended Greene County Public Schools and Wayne Community College and had been employed as a taxicab driver and a long-distance truck driver. He was a member of Greenleaf Christian Church, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Roberts Cannon of the home; one son, Curtis R. Cannon Jr. of Pueblo, Colo.; one daughter, Christine Cannon of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Charlie, Eddie Lee and Joseph Cannon of Snow Hill; one sister, Letha Mae Hall of the Browntown community; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The viewing hours will be from 1 until 6 p.m. on Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home and the wake will follow from 7 until 80.
