MARY V. BARFIELD

VANCEBORO -- Mary Violet Barfield, 74, of 532 W. Railroad St., died Tuesday at Craven Regional Medical Center.

Formerly of Goldsboro, she graduated from St. Joseph High School, attended St. Augustine College in Raleigh, and was employed as a secretary for a number of years.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Oscar's Mortuary. The Rev. Ethel J. Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in Barfield Family Cemetery.

She is survived by one brother, Ray Barfield of Brooklyn, N.Y., and two sisters, Lula Mae McClamb of Goldsboro and Annie Garris of Vanceboro.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

The viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary from noon until 6 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
