WILLIAM WEEKS

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Alexander "Mutt" Weeks, 87, of 5301 Barber Road, died Monday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Weeks was born in Lenoir County to the late Claude and Penny Jarman Weeks. He graduated from Moss Hill High School. He farmed in earlier years and later operated Week's Little Restaurant in Goldsboro. He was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church and was instrumental in organizing the Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He served terms as mayor and town commissioner for the Town of Seven Springs. He was a member of Woodmen Of The World.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bessie Outlaw Weeks; son, William Alexander "Bill" Weeks, Jr. of Newnan, Georgia; two grandchildren, Tanya Mascari and husband, Johnny, of Chicago, and Jocelyn Dunn of Raleigh; and three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Arabella and Brandon.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home following the service tonight, and other times at the home.
