ELMO GREGORY

Retired Air Force Staff Sgt. Elmo Gregory, 87, of 216 Friendly Drive, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Person County, he was the son of the late James Madison Gregory and Mamie Hicks Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a veteran of World War II. Following retirement from the military, he worked as an agent with Charlotte Liberty Life Insurance Company.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, with military honors, will be at 2 p.m. at the Sandhill State Veterans Cemetery at Spring Lake.

Mr. Gregory is survived by his wife, Florence M. Gregory; three sons and their wives, Stephen Wayne and Cory Gregory of Grantham, Philip Dale and Kay Gregory of Richmond, Va., and David Boyd and Peggy Gregory of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Helen Stewart of Durham and Evelyn White of Oxford; two brothers, Isaac Gregory of Rougmont and Troy Gregory of Roxboro; grandchildren, Jeanette Gregory Waters, and her husband, Marty, April D. Gregory, Rachel D. Gregory, Matthew S. Gregory, Jared M. Gregory, Eric I. Gregory, Aaron K. Gregory and Lukas G. Gregory; and great-grandson, Colton J. Waters.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Stephen and Cory Gregory, 2862 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro.
