JAMES McCULLEN

CLINTON -- James Forest McCullen, 89, of 619 Bradshaw Road, died Wednesday at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Walker and the Rev. Edward Dowd officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.

A native of Sampson County, Mr. McCullen was the son of the late William Arthur and Louetta Wiggins McCullen. He was a retired contractor and farmer and was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn M. Sessions of Gretna, La.; one son: Gerald "Jerry" McCullen of Kinston; and seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 until 9 at Royal-Hall Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1818 N. McCullen Road, Faison.
