IVEY SHERROD

Ivey Lee Sherrod died Friday, Nov. 19, at his home at 1104 S. Church Street in Mount Olive.

He was the son of the late Mack and Vera King Sherrod. He attended Duplin County Public Schools and was a member of Burning Bush Holiness Church, Faison, where he was a senior usher and served on the Usher Board.

He is survived by his wife, Celestine Sherrod of the home; four daughters, Gloriestine Sherrod and Angela S. Massey of Durham, Joyce S. Walker of Burgaw and Betty S. Sutton of Dudley; four sons, Marion Sherrod of Goldsboro, Adolph Sherrod of Bakersfield, Calif., Kenneth Sherrod of Dudley and Leonard Sherrod of Mount Olive; and 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Burning Bush Church. Elder Arto Pickett will officiate. Burial will be in the Hodges Cemetery in Faison.

The wake will be on Friday night from 7 until 8 at Rhodes & Powell Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
