LILA SYKES
Lila Armstrong Sykes, 93, of 913 Isler St. died Wednesday.
The funeral was held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McIntyre Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Ms. Sykes was employed by Paramount Cleaners for 42 years.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Jones and Louise Armstrong, and is survived by one sister Annie Pearl Vaughn of Goldsboro; one grandson, Chester Armstrong Sr. and his wife, Yelonda, of Goldsboro; three granddaughters, Gloria Evans, Doris Hinnant, and Elizabeth Isler and her husband, Harold, all of Goldsboro; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren, a very special friend and neighbor, Helen Mae Simms, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Friday from 6 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home.
