RENA CROOM

KINSTON -- Rena Kelly Croom, 70, of 4120 Highway 55 West, died Monday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Neuse Baptist Church, with the Rev. Greg Kincaid officiating.

Mrs. Croom was born in Freeman to the late Harry Lee Kelly and Lena Mae Byrd Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Lott "M.L." Croom, and is survived by four sons, Harry Ray Croom of Kinston, Gary Lott Croom Sr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Aiken, S.C., James Franklin Croom of Wake Forest and Samuel Bryan Croom and wife, Janice, of Kinston; one brother, Thurman Kelly, and wife, Sandra, of Clarkton; four grandchildren, Amanda Croom, Gary Lott Croom Jr., Samantha Croom and Matthew Croom.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Shepherd and Rosa Lee Potter; along with four brothers, Floyd Kelly, Wade Kelly, Raymond Kelly and Harry Lee Kelly Jr.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service on Friday, and other times at the home.

Memorial donations may be made to Neuse Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2909 West Vernon Ave., Kinston, N.C., 28501.

Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
