The funeral for Roger Lee Hines, 74, of 619 Slaughter St., will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at New Stoney Hill Church. Dr. Howard McNair will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park North.

Mr. Hines died Monday at Glen Care in Warsaw.

He was born in Wayne County to the late L.B. and Nora Dancy Hines. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired civil service employee.

Surviving are four daughters, Cheryl Hines, Bernita Hines, Letitia Jones and Ada Jones of Goldsboro; six sisters, Edna Jean Lewis of Newport News, Va., Sharon Phillips of Salem, Mass., and Tara Phillips, Tina Phillips, Billie Albert and Essie Phillips of Lynn, Mass.; five brothers, Rev. Leamon Hines Sr. of Elizabeth, N.J., Leslie Hines of Jarrette, Va., Jessie Hines of Newport News, Va., Montana Hines of Goldsboro and Henry Phillips of Brockton, Mass; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
