CARL EDWARDS SR.
KENLY -- Carl G. Edwards Sr., 65, of 2021 NC Hwy. 222 W., died Tuesday.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kenly Cemetery. The Rev. Harold Swinson and the Rev. James Stevens will officiate.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Dillon, S.C., and was the son of the late Crayton Edwards and Bessie Jackson Edwards. He retired as an assistant division engineer after 30 years of service with CSX. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and the Kenly Free Will Baptist Church, and was a former member and deacon at East Dillon Baptist Church in South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife, Linda J. Edwards; two daughters, Beth E. Sutton of Kenly and Lin E. Kirk of Knightdale; one son, Carl G. Edwards Jr. of Clayton; one brother, Melvin Edwards of South Carolina; and two grandchildren.
