RUBY GARRIS

Ruby Lee Smith Garris, of 1912 N. Berkeley Blvd., died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was the owner and operator of Ruby's Beauty Shop, and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. McGee Creech and the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Garris is survived by her husband, Winston Garris; one daughter, Bonnie Smith of Trenton; one son, Walter Smith of Virginia; one sister, Ellen Mitchell of Goldsboro; one brother, Leon Smith of Goldsboro; two step-sons, Gene Garris and Robert Garris, both of Goldsboro; one step-daughter, Debe Carrere of Goldsboro; a special niece, Sue Adams; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
