WILLIAM GREEN JR.

William Howard "Bill" Green Jr., 68, of 2990 N.C. 111 North, died Sunday night at Wake Medical Center.

The funeral services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Green was born in Rockingham County to the late William Howard Green Sr. and Sue Clark Green. He was a graduate of Hickory High School and was the first male graduate of the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Wayne Community College, where he later taught EMS classes for a number of years. Mr. Green was a lifetime member of the Goldsboro Rescue Squad, retiring after 27 years of service. He also retired from the Wayne Correction Center and attended Free Chapel Church, where he was a member of Faith Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Cooke Green; a daughter, Dana Green Radford of Pikeville; granddaughters, C.J. Radford and Brooke Radford of Pikeville; a brother, John C. Green and wife, Marsha, of Rosewood; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Cooke Ingram of Goldsboro; a special friend, Sophie; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the funeral, and at other times at the residence.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church, c/o Gerald Brown, 187 Vance Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
