JOHN PENDER

John Thomas "Peanut" Pender, 67, of 1501 W. New Hope Road, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Herring officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Mr. Pender was a native of Wayne County and was the son of the late Thomas H. Pender and Ethel Capps Pender. He was retired from Tritherm Insulation in Raleigh.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Conner Pender; one daughter, Tammy Snowden, and her husband, Jim, of Pikeville; one sister, Ann P. Teachey of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Austin Snowden and Sarah Snowden; two brothers-in-law, Larry Butts and Bud Conner of Goldsboro; three sisters-in-law, Linda Smith and JoAnn Holland of Goldsboro and Rita Hill of New Bern; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary P. Pender; a sister, Minnie R. Butts, and a brother, Douglas H. Pender.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday following the funeral, and other times at the home of Ann P. Teachey, 3040 U.S. 117 North, Goldsboro.
