TODD HOWARD

KINSTON -- Michael Todd Howard, 40, passed away at his home in Kinston, North Carolina on Thursday, October 7, 2004.

Todd's family and beloved friends joyfully testify that the Lord has reached down and carried home one of His finest sons. Todd was most recently employed as Vice President of Harvey Enterprises in Kinston, North Carolina. Prior to that time, Todd was affiliated with his family's businesses, Carolina Greenhouses and Howard Development Company also of Kinston, North Carolina.

Todd was a licensed stockbroker and real estate broker and served as a member of the Lenoir Community College Foundation Board, Chairman, Agriculture Committee, Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce, Committee of One Hundred and on the Advisory Board for The Little Bank, Kinston, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy and Mount Olive College and was pursuing a Masters degree at East Carolina University.

Todd is survived by his wife of nine years, Betty Jeanine Cooke Howard, their four children, Taylor Christian Myers, twin sons, Jackson Cooke Howard and Jacob Hobbs Howard and Michael Chancen Howard of the home. Mr. Howard is also survived by his mother and father, Patricia Ann Hobbs Howard and Clayton Dwight Howard of Kinston, a brother, Robert Clayton Howard and wife, Susan Scovil Howard of Raleigh and a sister, Dr. Holly Howard Parker and husband, Dr. John Ashley Parker of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Todd is also survived by his grandmothers, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Forrest Hobbs and Mrs. Thelma Lee Jones Howard of Kinston, North Carolina. Todd was predeceased by his grandfathers, Mr. Clayton Howard and Mr. Robert Henry Hobbs of Kinston, North Carolina. Also surviving are Todd's aunts and uncles, Mrs. Betty Hobbs Jones and husband, P. R. Jones of New Bern, North Carolina, Judge Mack Howard and wife, Eloise of Greenville, North Carolina. In addition, Todd is survived by his beloved cousins, Meg Griswold Holman of Chantilly, Virginia, Benjamin Griswold of Conyers, Georgia, Shannon Lea Howard of Alexandria, Virginia, Joshua Brian Howard of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kim Hobbs Hatcher and Kitty Hobbs-Proctor of Kinston, North Carolina. Nieces and nephews surviving Todd are: Robert Clayton Howard, Jr., Sidney Scovil Howard and Anne Stewart Howard of Raleigh, North Carolina and Sarah Margaret Parker and John Lucas Parker of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Mr. Howard was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church, the Emmaus Community and a devoted Prayer Warrior with his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Family and friends will be received during Visitation hours of 7 until 9 p.m. at the home of Todd's parents, Patricia and Dwight Howard, 1703 Cambridge Drive, Kinston, North Carolina, on Friday, October 8, 2004.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2004, at Westminster United Methodist Church, Kinston, North Carolina, with Rev. Haywood Smith officiating. There will be a private burial following the service.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Edwards Funeral Home, Kinston, North Carolina, where Todd's friends and family may visit prior to Saturday's Memorial Service.
