LARRY SIMMONS

WARSAW -- Larry Simmons, 54, died Tuesday at his home following a long illness.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. The Reverends Jimmy L. Horne and Regina Bradshaw will officiate. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.

Mr. Simmons was born on June 8, 1950, to Fernie and Florence Merritt Simmons of Duplin County. He was the former public works director of Warsaw.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Cruse Simmons of the home; one son, Larry Simmons Jr. of Warsaw; one daughter, Katrina Simmons Moore of Clinton; two grandchildren, Larry Daniel Simmons and Ashley Brett Moore; one brother, Thomas F. Simmons of Wilmington; four sisters, Christine Simmons English and Louise Simmons Cameron of Wilmington, Betty Jean Simmons Turner of Kings Mountain and Linda Simmons Moss of Warsaw.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home, and other times at the residence at 216 West Chelly St.
