WILLIE DAVIS

CLINTON -- Willie Price Davis, 84, of 901 Cartertown Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held by the graveside on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park near Goldsboro.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp. in California where he worked for 22 years. Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late William Robert Davis and Bessie Jane Price Davis. He was the husband of the late Alma Oliver Davis and was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Davis Peterson, Mary Ruth Davis Carr, and Marie Davis Jackson, and brothers, Woodrow Davis and Edward Davis.

He is survived by two step-sons, Russell Elswich and Steve Elswich, both of California; a brother, Tommy Davis of Roanoke Rapids; four sisters, Eliza Davis of Clinton, Helen Davis House of Mount Olive, Edna Davis Webster of Clinton, and Louise Davis Malpass of Mount Olive; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mrs. Alton Malpass, 390 Jones/Turner Road, Mount Olive.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to a local unit of the American Cancer Society.
