JOEL ESTEPPE

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. -- Joel Esteppe, 19, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004, in Cullowhee, N.C., from a drowning accident.

He was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., on Oct. 20, 1984. He was a student at Western Carolina University and employed with the facilities management department of the university.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Erin Michelle Esteppe in 2002.

Surviving are his father and mother, Jeffrey Scott Esteppe and Claresa Flannagan Esteppe, Lenoir City, Tenn.; his paternal grandparents, Mildred and Waival Esteppe, Blackwater, Va.; his maternal grandmother, Madonna Ballinger, of Marion, Ind.; and his maternal grandfather, Joe Flannagan, Kingsport, Tenn.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.

Graveside services will follow at Robbins Cemetery in the Pattonsville community, with Pastor Jeff Powell officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Whitley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 188 Whitley Church Road, Princeton.
