WINNIE H. PEEK

LAGRANGE -- The funeral for Winnie Holmes Peek, 84, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home in LaGrange. The Rev. Randall Barfield will officiate. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

Mrs. Peek died Saturday at her daughter's home in Panama City, Fla.

She was the daughter of the late Luby and Clemmie Ham Benton and was the widow of Harvey Holmes and Edson Peek. She had worked as a nurses' aide and hairdresser and was a member of First Baptist Church of Parker, the 55 Club and the Extension Service of Parker.

She is survived by a daughter, Dusty Bailey Kossow of Panama City; four grandchildren, Cheryl Livesay of Panama City, Debbie Hames and husband, Steve, of Asheboro, Pam Smith and husband, Howard, of Goldsboro, and Angie Holmes of Deep Run; one brother, Felton "Tinker" Benton of Smithfield, Va.; son-in-law, Glenn Mewborn of Goldsboro; daughter-in-law, Linda Holmes of Deep Run; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gaynelle Mewborn; a son, Roy "Duck" Holmes; and a grandson, Destry Holmes.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 on Sunday afternoon at Rouse Funeral Home.
