TSgt. Curtis Leanell Faison, 35, of 411 Vandenberg Street, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, N.C., following a motorcycle accident.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Geraldine King Faison of Camden, S.C., and the late MSgt. Thomas L. Faison, USAF, Retired.

TSgt Faison was serving in the United States Air Force at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in the Fourth Equipment Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight and had served in the military for 16 years. He served his country proudly in OPERATIONS Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, as well as Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 30, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Steven C. Moore, cousin of TSgt. Faison, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Carver Cemetery in Mount Olive with full military honors.

In addition to his mother, TSgt Faison is survived by his wife, Dwan Raiford Faison; his sister, Follissa (Niece) Faison of Columbia, S.C.; his mother-in-law, Wilma Raiford of Maryville, Tenn.; his sister-in-law, Stephanie Raiford of Maryville, Tenn.; and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins.

TSGT Faison will lie in state for viewing Wednesday, September 29, 2004, from 3 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. At other times the family will be at the Faison residence, 411 Vandenberg Street, Goldsboro.
