JOAN TYLER
FAISON -- The funeral for Joan Nell Tyler, 76, of 132 Benjamin Lane, was to be held at 3 p.m. at Hill's Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Harrington officiating. Burial was to be in Faison Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Tyler died Sunday at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Bynum and Hester Benjamin and was a retired educator with the Duplin County School system.
Her survivors include one son, Willie James Tyler Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Jacqualyn T. Howard of Raleigh; one brother, Edward Benjamin of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The viewing and an inspirational wake were held on Thursday evening.
Garris Funereal Home is serving the family.
