JOSEPH JERNIGAN
WILMINGTON -- Joseph Jernigan, 48, died Tuesday at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
Mr. Jernigan was born Sept. 1, 1956, to the late Winfred H. Jernigan Sr. and Reba Frances Rouse Jernigan of Duplin County.
He is survived by one daughter, Emily Garner of Wilmington; and one brother, Clifton Jernigan of Castle Hayne.
A memorial service was held today at 11 a.m. at Wrightsboro Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Hollar officiating. A graveside service was to be held today at 4 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery on Fire Tower Road in Rose Hill, under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Rose Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington.
