ANNIE BRASWELL

SMITHFIELD -- Annie Massingill Daughtry Braswell, 88, of Braswell Road, died Friday at her home.

Born in Johnston County, Annie was an active member of Princeton Church of God for 62 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher, clerk of church, Sunday school secretary, choir member and piano player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Needham Carroll and Geneva Holt Massingill; two husbands, Soloman Chester Daughtry, 1944, and Graham Benjamin Braswell, 2000; three brothers, William Massingill, Del Massingill and James Massingill; and four sisters, Minnie Johnson, Nellie Woodard, Irene Hartley and Thelma Mauldin.

Surviving her are three sons, Don Braswell of Kannapolis, Jimmie Daughtry of Wilmington, and David Daughtry of Goldsboro; one daughter, Melba Braswell Winstead of Princeton; one brother, Thel Massingill of Goldsboro; one sister, Rosa Davis of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. in the Princeton Church of God with burial following in the Princeton Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton from 6 until 8 p.m.
