WILLIAM CARRAWAY

William Aaron Carraway, 77, died Thursday at his home.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late William Thomas Carraway and Ophelia Jane Lee Carraway.

Mr. Carraway worked as a truck driver for Made Rite Bakery and had owned and operated Carraway's Little Restaurant on Center Street in Goldsboro. He was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Interment will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston pending the arrival of his grandson from Iraq.

Mr. Carraway is survived by his wife, Jane Malpass Carraway; one daughter, Brenda Crumpler, and her husband, Brad, of Goldsboro; one son, William Thomas Carraway of Wilmington; one sister, Madeline Mitchell of Nahunta; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his best friend and companion, his dog, Sable.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Aaron Carraway Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
