NELLIE ATKINSON
WILSON -- Nellie Gracey Atkinson, 75, mother of Mary Smith of Goldsboro, died Friday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Tabernacle of God in Saratoga. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
She is also survived by five other daughters, Julie Atkinson and Lou Ann Whitehead of Black Creek, Pamela Rogers and Brenda Taylor of Wilson, and Ida Ruth Artis of Elm City; four sons, Jerry Atkinson and James Earl Pitt of Wilson, Lester Pitt of Macclesfield and Ernest "Billy" Pitt of Pinetops; two sisters, Arthenia Jenkins of Wilson and Christine McNair of Saratoga; two brothers, Bobby "Buddy" Jenkins of Wilson and Joseph "Joe" Jenkins of Capitol Heights, Md.; and 39 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Jerry Atkinson, 4822 White Oak Loop, Wilson, and will assemble there one hour prior to the funeral.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Wilson.
