ANDY MITCHELL

PIKEVILLE -- Andy Curtis Mitchell, 44, 1296 N.C. 581 North, died Friday at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro with the Rev. Ferrell Hardison, the Rev. Jeff Toler, and the Rev. Henry Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Mitchell was a native of Wayne County and was the son of Inez Batten Mitchell of Goldsboro and the late Andrew Ralph Mitchell. He was the owner and operator of Mitchell's Body Shop and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Christian Motorcycle Association. He sang with the Psalmsmen and was a former singer with two other gospel-music groups, Canaanland and Legacy.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise B. Mitchell; one son, Andy "Drew" Mitchell Jr. of Pikeville; two sisters, Linda Everhart and husband, Richard, of Goldsboro and Joyce Murdock and husband, Chuck, of Goldsboro; three nieces, Jennifer E. Edwards, Stephanie Murdock and Kimberly Murdock; and a nephew, Richard Everhart.

The family will receive friends this afternoon from 2 until 3 at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and other times at 1296 N.C. 581 North, Pikeville.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Wayne County Relay for Life, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
