ELIZABETH HOWELL

Elizabeth Crawford Howell, 80, of 232 Buck Swamp Road, died Saturday at the Brian Center of Goldsboro.

She was the daughter of the late Ivey Jonathan and Jacqueline Ann Vail Crawford.

A native of Wayne County, she was a graduate of East Carolina Teacher's College and was a retired teacher from the Wayne County School System, having taught for 30 years. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority, and Salem United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband, Admiral G. Howell Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Admiral Griffith "Griff" Howell Jr. and Carolyn Beavers Howell; two grandchildren, Ashley and Cameron Howell; two sisters, Dolly C. Boone of Pikeville, and Kathleen C. Edgerton of Micro, and two brothers, I.J. Crawford Jr. and Ben Crawford, both of Pikeville.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neal Wingfield and the Rev. Robert Bame officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday after the funeral in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, or a charity of their choice.
