JOAN FITZSIMMONS
Joan Straight Fitzsimmons, 73, of 204 Acorn Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Mars Hill, Maine, Mrs. Fitzsimmons was the daughter of the late Isaac Straight and Regina Lewis Straight and was married to the late retired U.S. Air Force Col. John Wayne Fitzsimmons. She was an avid mall walker at Berkeley Mall.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Fitzsimmons is survived by her daughter, retired U.S. Navy Commander Jan Fitzsimmons of Washington, D.C.; and her son, retired U.S. Air Force Major Jeffrey L. Fitzsimmons of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
