LEROY PULLEY SR.

SMITHFIELD -- Leroy Pulley Sr., 84, died Saturday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.

He was the son of the late Samuel and Lucy Penny Pulley and was the widower of Phoebia Pulley. A World War II veteran, he was formerly employed at Carolina Packers of Smithfield and was a member of Green Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent.

His survivors include a son, Robert Pulley of Goldsboro; a daughter, Cleo Pulley of Smithfield; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Green Chapel Baptist Church. The Rev. DeAshley Curtis will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

The wake will be held at the church during the hour prior to the service.

Viewing hours will be from 2 until 6:30 p.m. today at Walter Sanders Funeral Home.
