JAMES PHILYAW
WALLACE -- James S. "Bud" Philyaw died Sunday.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in the Deep Bottom community. The Rev. Gerald Keith will officiate. Burial will be in the Murray Family Cemetery.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Philyaw was the son of the late Arcaster and Classie Keith Philyaw. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Wallace-Rose Hill High School.
Surviving are his wife, Bernice Tolbert Philyaw of the home; one son, Christopher Walker; sisters, Lizzie Mae Davis of Fayetteville and Rosa Thompson of Middletown, Del.; brothers, Arcaster Philyaw of Fayetteville, Jimmie Philyaw of Philadelphia, and Maurice Philyaw of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Chapel.
