Mrs. Sudie M. Taylor, age 90, formerly of Grantham, passed away Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was born in Johnston County to the late Wade A. and Mary Fields Worley and was married to the late Leon B. Taylor. A member of Goldsboro Primitive Baptist Church, she was also a former member of Grantham Home Extension Club.

"Miss Sudie" was a special person who touched our lives in a certain way and having known her, we will never be the same. For those who knew her, she will be remembered as a caring, generous, compassionate Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Great-Great-grandmother and friend. She cherished her family and friends who were the love of her life. She shared so many beautiful gifts with others, her love, laughter, smile, wisdom, sense of humor, joy and wit. Her love surrounded us and comforted us. She will surely be missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Delbert Caraway will be officiating. Burial will follow at Princeton Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and JoAnn Taylor of Fremont, Earl B. and Jean Taylor of Goldsboro and Donald L. and Teena Taylor of Beulaville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy T. and Tom Thornton of Kinston and JoAnne T. and Walter Kennedy of Goldsboro; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Walter and JoAnne Kennedy, 260 Providence Church Rd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court., Goldsboro N.C., 27533, or to the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Dr., Greenville N.C., 27834.
