Robert Henry Bryant, 67, of 1402 King Drive died Tuesday evening at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor Rodger Taylor Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mr. Bryant was born in Duplin County on Aug. 24, 1936, to Geneva Sanders Bryant and the late John Thomas Bryant. He was past employed with Cherry Hospital for 17 years, a former barber at East End Barber Shop, and was owner of City Cab Company on N. John Street until his health declined. Mr. Bryant was a member of the Philadelphia Community Church where he served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Nobles Bryant; his mother, Geneva Sanders Bryant of Duplin County; two sons, Robert Andre Bryant of Goldsboro and Elgin Thomas Bryant of Durham; two brothers, J.T. Bryant of Goldsboro and Leroy Bryant of New York; seven sisters, Earlene Troublefield of Raleigh, Josephine Glaspie of Warsaw, Earnestine Brinson of Rainbow, Minnie Rea Dunn of Snow Hill, Vera Mae Worrells of Dudley, Doris Gray Bryant of Mount Olive, and Peggy Jean Cartwright of Dudley; and two grandchildren.

The viewing will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends other times at his residence.
