JOSEPH F. BOWDEN
Joseph Frederick Bowden, 65, of 707 N. Claiborne, Apt. A, died at his residence Saturday. He was the son of the late Frank and Beulah Austin Bowden. He attended Wayne County Schools and received a diploma as a certified mechanic from Jr. College, Washington, D.C.
There will be a funeral service Saturday at 1 p.m. from Atkinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Elder Gary Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Mill Cemetery
Mr. Bowden is survived by his wife, Eva Mae Bowden of Philadelphia, Pa.; one son, Philip Deans of Raleigh; one daughter, Tanya Little of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Mary Ferrell Edwards of Fayetteville, Marie Massey of San Antonio, Texas, and Gloria Williams of Philadelphia, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
The body maybe viewed Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Rhodes Chapel with the family being present from 7 until 8 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Rhodes Funeral Home, Goldsboro.
