WALTER MERCER
Walter Julian Mercer, 64, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
A native of Goldsboro, he was the son of the late Walter and Ina Parks Mercer. Mr. Mercer was the CEO of The Art Gallery Inc. and served his country in the United States Air Force.
Surviving are sons, Julian Boyd Mercer and his wife Lisa and Joel Barton Mercer and wife Tracie, all of Spartanburg, Jeremy Brett Mercer and wife Jennifer, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Garris Boyd, Callie Parks, Isabelle Isaacs Mercer, Chelsea Brooks Mercer, Hayley Madison Mercer, and Jeremy B. Mercer Jr.; sisters, Betty M. Easley, of Beaufort, NC, Linda M. Gray, of Pensacola, Florida and Carolyn M. Grant, of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at the home, 234 Mansfield Drive, Spartanburg, S.C., (864) 579-0656.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The South Carolina School For the Deaf and Blind 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, S.C., 29302.
