GENE HART SR.

Gene Edward Hart Sr., 66, of 1600 Stephens St., died Sunday morning at Britthaven Nursing Home.

He was born in Henderson, Texas, and was the son of the late Grady Hart and Betty Trimble Hart. He graduated from Hen-derson High School and attended Prairie View A&M College in Prairie View, Texas. Mr. Hart served 26 years and 2 months in the United States Army, retiring as a sergeant major. He was a dedicated member of Miracle Revival Center Church, where he served as an usher.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruth Williams Hart; two daughters, Angie Stallworth of Virginia Beach, Va., and Sonya Parker of Greensboro; two sons, Gene Edward Hart Jr. of Raleigh and Michael Johnson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Gladys Oakry of Selman City, Texas, and Eddie Doll Alexandera of San Jose, Calif., one brother Johnny C. Hart of Compton, Calif.; and three grandsons and one granddaughter.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at God's House of Prayer. Bishop Donald Dixon will officiate. Burial will be on Sunday, Aug. 1, at Community Cemetery in Big Springs, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St.
