The funeral for Katherine Lutes Benton Davis, 89, of Elm City, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Seymour and Bishop Robert Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Davis died Sunday at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.

A native of Wayne County and a homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ida Smith and the widow of Robert Irvin Davis.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and Earl "Buck" Buchan of Elm City, with whom she lived; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Irvin "Mickey" and Lyvonne Davis of Dudley; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ellen Benton of Goldsboro; a sister, Lillian B. Register of Smithfield; four grandchildren, Vickie B. and Glenn Borg of Wilson, Linwood and Catina Outlaw of Goldsboro and Bryan Davis and Danny Davis of Dudley; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Outlaw of Goldsboro, Hadley Katherine Borg of Wilson, and Carter Outlaw of Goldsboro.

The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and other times at the residence at 6319 E. Langley Road, Elm City, N.C., 27822.
