JEAN McCALL

Mrs. Jean Gibson McCall of Goldsboro died Wednesday, July 21, 2004.

She was born February 27, 1927 in Rocky Point, North Carolina. Mrs. McCall was the daughter of Sara Baker and Douglas Gibson. She attended Women's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla., and Fashion Academy in New York City. Mrs. McCall was a member of Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity and was past president of Alpha Phi Chapter.

Mrs. McCall married Fred McCall of Los Angeles, California.

She studied portrait with Emily Guthrie Smith, Museum of Fine Art in Fort Worth, Texas and still-life with Ruth Tears in Dallas, Texas.

She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church and was very active in it and civic affairs until recent years. Mrs. McCall was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. McCall is survived by her husband of 55 years, Fred McCall; three children, Randy M. Byrd, Frances M. Nagel, and Clift McCall and his wife, Susan, and three grandchildren, Frederic III, Carmen and Michael.

Private graveside services will be held Saturday at Willow Dale Cemetery. Rev. Ryan Rasmussen will officiate.
