CHARLIE MURPHY
KENANSVILLE -- The funeral for Charlie James Murphy, 76, of 248 Paul Ed Dail Road, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hallsville Baptist Church. The Rev. James A. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Murphy died Friday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Hallie and Katie Boone Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Ozzie Murphy; three sons, James A. Murphy, Elijah Murphy and Norris J. Murphy of Kenansville; one daughter, Charlinda Barden of Kenansville; one brother, Christopher C. Murphy of Jersey City, N.J.; three sisters, Mavis Murphy of Jersey City, N.J., Annie Doris Carrol of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ethel Gray Pickett of Asheville; and 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Ozzie Murphy, 348 Perry Miller Road, Kenansville.
The viewing will be today from 3 until 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
