GLADYS SAYER

PIKEVILLE -- Gladys M. Colton Sayer, 69, of 108 Choctaw Drive, died today at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Lowville, New York, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Florence Carrera Colton. Mrs. Sayer had been a clerk in the St. Lawrence County, New York, district attorney's office; a nurse's aid in upstate New York and a manager for Full Size Fashions Clothing Store in Loveland, Colorado. Mrs. Sayer was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neal Wingfield officiating. Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in New Cedar Grove Cemetery in Chaumont, New York.

Mrs. Sayer is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Sayer Sr.; sons, Richard Sayer Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Colin Sayer and wife, Sally, of Pikeville, and Barry Sayer and wife, Alane, of Silver Spring, Md.; a daughter, Kathy S. Johnson and husband, Lawrence, of Fultonville, New York; a brother, Louis Colton of Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Marjorie McCallops of Watertown, New York; grandchildren, Nicole Eschler, Holly Sayer, Trevor Sayer, Benjamin Johnson and Erika Rose Sayer; great-grandchildren, Katlynn-Rose Elizabeth Sayer and Dominique Alexis Sayer; and a special cousin, Everett Colton of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Louise Anselm, and a brother, George Colton Jr.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
