MARY TURNAGE

LAGRANGE -- Mary Eleanor "Black" Hill Turnage, 79, of 2325 N. Beston Road, died Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Faw, Linwood Johnson and F.G. Alford officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

A native of Wayne County, Mrs. Turnage was the daughter of the late Roland R. Hill and Julia Parks Hill and was a retired sales associate with Leder's and Proffitt's. She was an avid gardener and was a member of Hood Swamp Friends Meeting.

Mrs. Turnage is survived by her husband, Alvin "Bummy" Turnage; her daughter, Cathy Turnage of LaGrange; her son, Elton Turnage and wife, Brinda, of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Dean Turnage and wife, Angie, of Snow Hill and Phillip Turnage of LaGrange; her great-grandchildren, Dena Turnage, Kasey Turnage and Ally Turnage; her sister, Edna Hill Sauls of LaGrange; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Trish of Snow Hill; a brother-in-law, Virgil Turnage; and her lifetime friends, Kathleen, Gordon and Don Owens.

The family will greet friends following the service on Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
