MONTIE D. BARNES
KENLY -- Montie Davis Barnes, 80, of 21 Little Road, died Sunday at Wilson Medical Center.
The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coley Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Barnes and Rudy Jones officiated. Burial was in Memorial Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of William R. Davis and Bertha Cockrell Davis and the widow of Walter J. Barnes Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Burress and Catherine Harrell of Kenly and Shirley Evans of Spring Hope; six sons, Jerry Barnes of Nahunta, Sammy Barnes of Rock Ridge, Doug Barnes of Kenly, Larry Barnes of Fremont, Donnie Barnes of Kenly and Ricky Barnes of Nashville; a sister, Mary Lee Peacock of Kenly; four brothers, Frank Davis of Kenly, William Hoover Davis and Glenn R. Davis of Wilson and Steven Kenneth Davis of Goldsboro; and 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Tuesday night at the funeral home.
